By using Ouk Chaktrang you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. The app is provided by Yean Seyha ("we", "us"). Contact: support@yeanseyha.dev
1. What the app is
Ouk Chaktrang is a free app for playing Cambodian chess — against the built-in engine offline, against other people online, and against a daily puzzle.
2. Accounts
You may play without an account. An account is required for online play, the leaderboard, a rating, and syncing progress across devices.
- Give us an email address you control.
- Do not share your account, and tell us if you think someone else is using it.
- One person, one account. Extra accounts made to inflate a rating or a leaderboard position may be removed.
- You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
3. Coins have no value
The app contains an in-game item called a coin (កាក់).
- Coins are not currency and have no cash value.
- Coins cannot be purchased, sold, transferred, or exchanged for anything outside the app.
- Coins are never wagered. There is no staking between players, and no outcome of a game moves coins from one person to another.
- We may change how coins are earned or spent at any time, and coins may be removed entirely without compensation.
4. Fair play
Do not:
- use an engine, a bot, or another person to choose your moves in an online game;
- deliberately lose, stall, or disconnect to manipulate ratings;
- modify the app, or send the server anything it did not ask for;
- harass another player, or use a display name that is obscene, hateful, impersonating, or advertising something.
We may reset a rating, remove a display name, or suspend or close an account that does any of this. Where the account is not a repeat offender we will usually tell you what happened and why.
5. What is yours and what is ours
The app, its artwork — including the six carved piece designs — its code, and its name belong to us. You may not copy, reproduce, redistribute, reverse engineer, or make derivative works from them.
Your display name and the record of your games remain yours. You grant us permission to display your display name and rating to other players, which is the only way a leaderboard or an opponent list can work.
6. Availability
The app is offered free of charge and as is. We do not promise the online service will always be available, that a game will never be interrupted, or that a rating will never be corrected after an error. Offline play, the daily puzzle and engine play are designed to keep working without a network, but we do not guarantee that either.
We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service, including closing the online service entirely, with reasonable notice where it is practical to give it.
7. Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the app, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us, which for a free app is nothing.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law — including for death, personal injury, or fraud.
8. Ending it
You may stop using the app at any time and ask us to delete your account by writing to support@yeanseyha.dev. We may close an account that breaks these terms. Sections 3, 5, 7 and 9 survive the end of this agreement.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and disputes will be heard by the courts of Phnom Penh.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top changes when we do. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the new terms; if you do not, delete the app and ask us to close your account.
